Sustainability & ethics

Last Updated: April 30, 2025

At Neural Partners, sustainability and ethics are foundational, not aspirational. Our operating agreement legally empowers us to consider the impact of our decisions on society, the environment, and future generations. We exist to create a material positive impact, not just short-term business results.

Our Purpose

As defined in our founding documents, Neural Partners exists to build value through innovation and impact. Our members are authorized to consider the interests of:

  • Our team and future hires
  • Clients and the communities they serve
  • Our partners and supply chain
  • The environment—both local and global
  • The long-term independence and sustainability of our business

We take a multi-stakeholder approach to governance and believe in principled leadership.

Our Commitment to B Corp Standards

Neural Partners is preparing to apply for Certified B Corporation status. We are actively aligning our operations with the B Impact Assessment framework and intend to formally pursue certification in 2026, in accordance with the eligibility criteria for new companies.

In the meantime, we operate in the spirit of B Lab’s Pending B Corp model. More information is available at bcorporation.net.

Our Code of Ethics

Our internal Code of Ethics outlines ten principles that guide every decision we make:

  1. Integrity and Honesty
  2. Privacy and Security
  3. Social and Environmental Stewardship
  4. Client-Centric Commitment
  5. Respect and Inclusion
  6. Continuous Learning and Innovation
  7. Accountability and Transparency
  8. Conflict of Interest Management
  9. Legal Compliance
  10. Ethical Use of AI

We treat our Code not as a checklist, but as a culture.

Ethical Use of AI

At Neural Partners, we recognize the profound societal impact of artificial intelligence and the responsibility that comes with designing, deploying, and integrating AI technologies. While we are not affiliated with UNESCO or any formal ethical board or regulatory body, we align our internal practices with widely accepted principles for responsible AI development, including those set forth in UNESCO’s Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence.

Our commitments to the ethical use of AI include:

  • Human-Centered Design: We prioritize human dignity and autonomy in the development and application of AI systems, ensuring that technology serves human values and rights.
  • Transparency and Explainability: We strive to design and use AI systems that are understandable to stakeholders, including clients, users, and the public. When appropriate, we disclose when and how AI systems are being used.
  • Fairness and Non-Discrimination: We actively work to identify and mitigate biases in data, algorithms, and outcomes, aiming to promote fairness and avoid harm to marginalized or vulnerable groups.
  • Accountability and Oversight: We maintain clear processes to ensure that human oversight is integral to all stages of AI system development and use. Responsibility for outcomes remains with our human teams.
  • Privacy and Data Governance: We protect personal data and uphold privacy rights throughout all AI-related processes, guided by rigorous data stewardship standards.
  • Environmental Responsibility: We assess the environmental impact of our AI models and infrastructure choices and prioritize sustainability in our technological decisions.

As a forward-thinking company, Neural Partners supports the evolution of robust ethical frameworks for emerging technologies. We will continue to review and update our practices in line with global discussions, while tailoring our actions to our context as a U.S.-based business.

Our Ethical Framework in Action

  • Modern Slavery Statement: We have adopted a public-facing Modern Slavery Statement outlining our expectations of suppliers and steps to prevent exploitation. Read more here.
  • Accessibility: We actively maintain an Accessibility Statement aligned with WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Read more here.
  • Privacy Rights: We provide U.S. consumers with clear access to their data rights. Read more here.
  • Environmental Impact: While we operate primarily as a digital business, we prioritize energy-efficient infrastructure and remote-first operations to reduce emissions.

Governance and Accountability

Our leadership is directly accountable to the Operating Agreement’s impact mandate. This includes:

  • Annual review of sustainability and ethics policies
  • Internal reporting on ethical risks and opportunities
  • Transparent engagement with clients and partners on values alignment

As we grow, we will publish periodic updates on our ethical and sustainability performance.

We believe the future belongs to companies that lead with intention. Neural Partners is building that future: responsibly, intelligently, and transparently.
